1. Subscription Refunds
SociA|~ Society subscriptions include a 14-day money-back guarantee from the date of purchase. If you are not satisfied with your membership for any reason, email us at hello@theoptimal.org within 14 days of your subscription start date and we will issue a full refund, no questions asked.
This 14-day guarantee applies to both monthly and annual plans, and to new subscriptions and renewals alike. After the 14-day window has passed, payments are non-refundable except where required by applicable EU consumer law or other mandatory statutory rights in your country of residence.
EU consumers: if you believe you have statutory rights to a refund beyond this policy, please contact us and we will review your situation in accordance with applicable law.
2. Annual Plans
Annual subscribers who cancel their subscription after the 14-day money-back window will not receive a pro-rated refund for the remaining months of their annual billing period. Your membership access will continue in full until the end of the annual period you have paid for.
Cancellation stops future charges from being made; it does not automatically trigger a refund. If you believe your circumstances warrant an exception, contact us and we will consider it on a case-by-case basis.
3. How to Request a Refund
To request a refund within the 14-day window:
- Email hello@theoptimal.org with the subject line "Refund Request".
- Include the email address associated with your AIQ account.
- Optionally, include your subscription start date or Stripe receipt for faster processing.
We process refund requests within 5 business days of receipt. Once approved, the refund is returned to the original payment method via Stripe. Depending on your bank or card issuer, it may take an additional 5–10 business days for the credit to appear on your statement.
4. Non-Refundable Items
The following are not eligible for a refund:
- Subscription periods where the 14-day refund window has already passed.
- Renewal charges where the renewal date has already occurred and more than 14 days have passed since that renewal date.
- Any billing period in which you have accessed a significant portion of the membership content, except where required by applicable law.
If your account is terminated due to a violation of our Terms of Service, you are not entitled to a refund for any portion of the billing period, regardless of whether the 14-day window has passed.
5. Cancellation vs. Refund
Cancellation and a refund are two separate actions:
- Cancellation stops future billing immediately. After cancellation, no further charges will be made to your payment method. Your membership access continues until the end of your current paid billing period.
- Refund returns the payment already made for the current or most recent billing period. A refund must be requested separately by emailing hello@theoptimal.org within the 14-day window. Cancellation alone does not trigger a refund.
To cancel your subscription, go to your account settings and follow the cancellation steps. To request a refund, follow the process in section 3 above.
